The web analytics industry hasn’t arrived (yet)

Posted by admin on November 28th, 2007 filed in Webanalytics general

Marketingsherpa published some interesting results from their latest survey:

Budget for Analytics and Testing
48% Can’t do any a/b testing
44% Can’t measure LP test results
40% Only test at launch & leave forever
16% Don’t share test results w/ agency

How true these numbers are! I have talked to soooo many internet people (from small and largers sites) and most companies just don’t do any advanced web analytics even that they know it exists. I would love to see some stats about Omniture / Webtrends / Coremetrics… clients on that. How many actually use their web analytics tools to pull more than the standard KPI’s.

@Marcos. That’s certainly another reason why companies get frustrated. I’ve never had such a response via email after a small post like this.
