Visualization with Excel 2007

I just got my Microsoft Excel 2007 .And you need to get it too!

I just got the new Office 2007 package yesterday, which finally helped me getting over OpenOffice, which is great, but I was just not patient enough to study every single button again.

The new Excel 2007 is a killer product for everybody that works with data. I really haven’t been so excited about a simple new software from Microsoft for a while, but the new Excel is just incredible. I will add some info tom, but feel free to checkout the screenshots from below:

Above screenshot shows Dashboard from Excel pros Instantcognition.com. Done w. Excel 2003! UI is Excel 2007. Screenshots below are made with Excel/Office 2007.

JupiterResearch: Webtrends the leader in Market Suitability

Webtrends WebTrends announced it was recognized as the leader                   in Market  Suitability in JupiterResearch’s report.

WebTrends out-scored all other web analytics vendors for its top ranking in market suitability, which was based on product pricing, critical feature set, standard feature set and product support cost. JupiterResearch mapped and ranked WebTrends available feature set against a pre-requisite feature set as determined by JupiterResearch, and interviewed vendor clients to assess the strength and availability of its services.

Good job Webtrends! I am happy that Webtrends is agressive in their pricing. I always said that high-end tools currently overcharge their clients. Especially when it comes to hosted solutions where exorbitant fees are charged. Webtrends is a great exception.

By the end of February I will make a list of webanalytics vendor awards. This year seems to be a new record of awards for the top 5 vendors. Personally I think it is pretty unnecessary to give away 20 different awards for the sake of PR. But what do I know?

VKI Studios Partners with Omniture

Demonstrating their commitment to providing cutting-edge web analytics and web statistics to their Search Engine Optimization (SEO) clients, VKI Studios today announced its partnership with Omniture.

Pretty interesting to see that more and more agencies start using Omniture as their webanalytics solutions. I am not sure how Websidestory is doing right now, but after recent agressive business moves of Omniture, they must have a difficult time keeping up the speed. I hope that both companies will continue to compete on such a high level. I also miss the integration of Visual Science into Websidestory for all customers.
