Google’s Open OS is a wake up call for the Telcos

Posted by admin on November 5th, 2007 filed in Mobile

Google announced today the great, incredible useful and beautiful looking, but not launched…. Google Mobile OS. Once more Google shows everybody else, that nowadays you better make friends with your competition rather than trying to build your own locked system and beat everybody else (= the Microsoft way).

Nokia, Ericson, Sony, Samsung, Motorola should have done what Google does about 5 years ago. They had it in their hand to develop a system which let’s these 5 companies run the mobile internet show over the next years. Now it looks different even that Symbian, Linux and Windows Mobile have a combined market share of more than 90%

It’s not too late, but if the Iphone and the announced Google’s OS did not wake them up today, I am not sure where they are heading to.
