One-click hosting - the forgotten Web 2.0 child

Posted by admin on September 21st, 2007 filed in Offtopic

Once-click hosting servvices are one of the most promising online businesses out there and often the Web 2.0 world forgets about these kind of businesses, even that their growth and revenues are phenomenal.

One of the biggest one-click-hoster is Rapidshare, which currently ranks at 12th biggest website in the world and people estimate their yearly bandwidth cost at about $15-20 million! Rapidshare is extremely profitable, relies only on subscriptions (premium accounts).

My friend Randolph launched a few months back a one-click hosting service called Gulli share. Within a half year he grew the service to respectable 2.6 million pageviews and 700,000 unique visitors per month!!!

The service started generating revenues from day one, but out of personal reasons (he prefers living in sunny South Africa than in rainy currently drunk Germany) he decided to sell his business on Ebay.

The current bidding price is under $10k, which is incredible low. So if you are ready to invest some money in a great product, visit the auction and place a bid.

It’s too bad that I don’t live in Germany anymore and have no personal colo in the US. I would have taken some money in the hand. At this price it sounds like a no-brainer to me.
